Description: Muhammad Ali autographed training headgear - "Made Expressly for Muhammad Ali" from the famed Polager Collection (EX). Everlast brand headgear has a large branded label on the front with "Made Expressly For Muhammad Ali" printed along the bottom. Model number "4010" is factory impressed on the top and there is a "Large" size tag inside. They were sold in the famed Paloger Collection auction of Ali memorabilia in 1997 (lot 175) and were then described as originating from the collection of Bundini Brown. It further notes that they were formerly exhibited at the Muhammad Ali Museum in Louisville, KY. A copy of the Polager catalog will be included which describes them as "used by him during sparring sessions in preparation for fights" however we wish to stress that, in our opinion, they show only a hint of wear if any at all. Regardless of use, they were made for Ali and offer tremendous display value bearing a striking similarity to headgear in which he is often shown while training.
