Description: 1953 N.Y. Yankees World Series Champions banner (see description). Original felt banner measuring 23 1/2" x 17 1/2" commemorates the Yankees 16th World Series title in 1953. Screened-on text with infield graphic lists the team's roster, including Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra and others. Banner appears to have been altered, likely in the period, with a "World Champions" felt strip stitched-on above the original screened-on text that likely reads "American League Champions."
