Description: Lot of (2) rare 1945 U.S. Army Baseball Championship scorecards from Nuremberg, Germany (PR). Highly interesting and historical lot of programs from the U.S. Army baseball league championship, which was organized by the American military brass in Europe following the fall of Hitler's Third Reich in 1945. Both open to a center scorecard with team rosters (unscored), including MLB players Johnny Wyrostek, Harry Walker, Ewell Blackwell, Bob Ramazzotti and others. Includes (1) Third U.S. Army Baseball Championship scorecard for the game between the 76th Inf. Div. and 71st Inf. Div. held in early August 1945 at Soldiers Field (formerly Hitler Youth Stadium) with handwritten notations including "27,000 soldiers here" on front cover and listing of Aug. 10 Bob Hope show on back cover (PR; scrapbook residue/damage on back cover); and (1) undated Champions Baseball scorecard for the game between the 3rd Army, 71st Div. and 7th Army, 29th Div. in Nuremberg with handwritten notations including "Crowd of 40,000 G.I. and Officers" and "A grand day here and a swell ball park" on the cover (PR; scrapbook residue/damage on back cover).
