Description: Ira Gershwin hand-signed postcard with original envelope and note admonishing addressee (Sig. MT). Highly interesting signed letter from the famous lyricist who collaborated with his younger brother, George, on immensely popular songs and Broadway shows. Includes original mailing envelope addressed in Gershwin's hand and postmarked July 9, 1963. Inside is a postcard signed by Gershwin (personalized) and a separate note sarcastically admonishing the addresse to include a self-addressed envelope when asking for autographs, writing "Chapter 1, Advice to Autograph Collectors." Signature rates 9 out of 10. Envelope/postcard: EX-EX/MT.
