Description: Large lot of approx. (200) c.1920s-60s Baseball player/related photographs (GD-EX) Nice collection of photography with the focus being on former Philadelphia Phillies and Athletics players. In some cases they appear in Philadelphia uniform and in others the pictures were taken while the player was with another team. A good portion would be considered "Type I" however there will be some others (Type II, Type III, etc.) mixed in. Some are from the Sporting News Collecton and have their hologram affixed to the back. There are nice images mixed in and they mostly date to the 1930s through 50s however there are may be a handful earlier and a good many dating to later. A variety of photographer, agency, series stamps/marks on backs and some were prepared for publication with appropriate mask/markings applied to the front. A handful have Burke stamp on back but these appear likely to be later generation (although still vintage) prints. In some cases the photos were trimmed down. Some semi-stars mixed in but it should be assumed that nearly all are "commons."
