Description: Very impressive "Negro League Legends" complete postcard set (200 cards) with approx. (380) total autographs (EX-NM)Complete set of (200) postcards published by R.D. Retort Enterprises in 1991 and issued in (2) series. Nearly all signed cards are from the same numbered set ("207 of 10,000") with a handful which are numbered differently (in those cases the unsigned from set 207 is also included). There are approximately (380) total autographs throughout with some single signed cards and others which have multiple autographs. Postcards signed by (1) subject include Buck Leonard (11 * see note at end of listing), Leon Day, Monte Irvin, Buck O'Neil (2), Ted Radcliffe (2), Bobby Robinson, Edsall Walker, Artie Wilson, Quincy Trouppe, Art Pennington (2), Andy Porter, Larry Kimbrough, Garnett Blair, Sherwood Brewer, Max Manning, Lefty Mathis, Lou Dials, Mahlon Duckett, Stanley Glenn, Wilmer Fields (2), Nap Gulley, Wilmer Harris, Bob Harvey, Henry Kimbro, Sam Jethroe, Gene Benson, Charlie Biot, Bill Cash, Jim Cowan, Jimmie Crutchfield, and Pipper Davis. Marker signatures are nearly all 7/8 out of 10 or better and there is a hint of wear to a few pieces. PLEASE NOTE: this lot has been screened and nearly all signatures are authentic HOWEVER there is at least (1) Larry Doby autograph which is secretarial and it is possible that 4 or 5 Buck Leonard are aswell (several within the Series 2 cards look slightly off).
