Description: Rare autographed late 1950s "Mickey Mantle Baseball Set" header card with baseball bat (Sig: NM; JSA). Heavy stock 6.5"x22.25" header card featuring a pair of images has "Mickey Mantle" text across the top and "Baseball Set No. 60" captioned along the bottom. At the time of production it would have held a child sized baseball bat (an original example is included) and a small matching ball. It has been signed "Mickey Mantle" in blue marker rating 8 out of 10. Affixed is an original bat with "Mickey Mantle" facsimile signature in the centerbrand which is marked "Rollin Wilson" (the same Company whose name is printed along the lower edge of the header). The bat is a period original showing only light wear and it has been secured to the header card with several staples along the back (these are newer however the bats were originally affixed in the same manner with the old holes visible). Header card itself shows wear including a heavy crease to upper left, scuff below Mantle's name, a tear to lower left, and some indentations along the bottom. A notably scarce Mantle piece and one of only a few we have seen. Includes custom 23"x6.5"x4.25" lucite display case and auction LOA from JSA: Sig. NM, Header card FR. $1,000-$1,500Final Bid: $550.00
