Description: Rare 1909 Saturday Evening Post World Series contest pamphlet with Ty Cobb and Nap Lajoie (See description) Rare original multi-page publication (8.5"x12.25") issued by the Saturday Evening Post was presumably issued to paperboys who sold the famed publication. Text throughout describes rules of a competition with the winners (based on sales) awarded either a trip to the World Series or $75 in case. Both Ty Cobb and Nap Lajoie are pictured on the front cover and in other places inside or on the back cover. Cy Young is also pictured inside. Displays well however there are some flaws throughout. The most notable is a horizontal fold which effects all pages and each page has a split along the fold extending from the right edge to about the center (the front cover separation has been stabilized from behind with a piece of conservation tape. In addition, there is some discoloration, other creases/wrinkles, and some small chips and other wear. The piece was at one time mounted with a frame and there are (3) resulting small pieces of mounting tape (two on inside front cover and the other on the upper back cover): See description ($500-$1,000)Final Bid: $825.00
