Description: Very early c.1860s-70s hand drawn baseball field diagram with measurements (GD) Slip of paper (2.5"x6") has a very well done early illustration of a baseball diamond complete with measurements. "Diagram Of Ground for National Game" is written along the lower edge. Very well done in two colors and an outstanding early display piece complete with pitchers' mound noted as being "15 Yds" (45 feet) from the batter. This would change to the standard (60) feet (6) inches in the 1890s. Mild toning with some wear including a small area of paper loss. A small note which was included with the piece relayed that it was removed from an 1867 scrapbook: GDFinal Bid: $439.00
