Description: Lot of (2) Sept. 16, 2001 Orioles vs. Red Sox full tickets (postponed due to 9/11 attacks) & Cal Ripken Jr. final game commemorative tickets (VG-NM). Highly interesting lot (with a touch of history) for Ripken collectors, who may remember his final game was to be at Yankee Stadium in late September, 2001. However, due to the tragic attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, MLB postponed the next six days of games, eventually pushing Ripken's final game to Camden Yards on Oct. 6, 2001. Holders of tickets to the Orioles vs. Red Sox game on Sept. 16, 2001 were then able to redeem them for seats to what turned out to Ripken's final game on Oct. 6, 2001, won by the Red Sox 5-1. Lot includes (2) unused full tickets from Sept. 16, 2001 (one NM; one VG with apparent surface damage) and (2) Ripken commemorative tickets (VG/EX & NM) from Oct. 6, 2001 at Camden Yards, plus lanyards and related Orioles merchandise pamphlets.
