Description: 1974 Jim Palmer "Cy Young Oldtimers Baseball Assoc." trophy in honor of his 1973 season (EX-EX/MT with note to repair) Substantive presentational trophy was made to honor Jim Palmer and his 1973 Cy Young Award winning season. It was due to be presented to him a 1974 event however, as the history has been relayed, he did not show up to accept it. The piece stands a full 27" tall on 9"x15" marble base. A metal placard on the base reads, "1973 Cy Young Award Winner Jim Palmer Baltimore Orioles, Won 22 Lost 9, Cleveland Stadium Sept 8, 1974, Presented by Cy Young Oldtimers Baseball Assoc. Tusc. Co." Printed portraits of Palmer and Cy Young appear on upright backings which stand above, likewise on smaller marble bases. Light/mild surface wear. Note - the metal placard on the base was loose but has been reaffixed and may become loose again and one of the numbers has broken and been reglued: EX-EX/MT ($500-$1,000)Final Bid: $330.00
