Description: "Kid Nichols personal Heubach German bisque porcelain baseball figurines c.1880s (Family member letter of provenance) (EX/MT and NM) Striking large size variation batter and pitcher figurines stand 14 1/2"" tall with hand painted red and blue pinstriped uniforms. Very clean overall with bright coloration and limited wear (batter has small chip to hat and thumb on upper hand is missing). Impressed German manufacturer stampings ""Geschuetzt-Gesetzlich"" appear under the base. The only such examples we are aware of the have originated from the personal collection of a baseball Hall of Fame member and they include a letter of provenance signed by his great grand-daughter: EX/MT and NM ($1,500-$2,000)"Final Bid: $1,452.00
