Description: "Baseball in the '50s" illustrated history book with collection of nearly (500) former player autographs including many Hall of Famers, notables, and deceased (see description) Hardcover illustrated history book served as the basis for a long time collection of baseball autographs with the goal having been to obtain the signatures of all pictured (and others just mentioned). In some cases the collector was able to have the book itself signed however the majority of autographs are cuts which have been affixed to pages. In some cases there are photos or other type pieces which are mounted inside. There have been a good number of pages removed (and some portions of page removed) and those which remain are largely no longer affixed to the binding. Some pieces can be removed without risk of damage and others can not. In addition, most pages which are themselves signed have other pieces (or penny sleeve holders) attached. The signatures themselves generally rate between 7 to 9 out of 10. Please note - the book has been screened with some authenticity issues removed however there remain a small number of problem autographs within (including a Hank Aaron, 2 Willie Mays, and a handful of others). A partial accounting of signers includes: title page has been signed by (20) incl.
