Description: Vintage scrapbook containing photos mostly of Mercersburg (PA) including sports photos, c.1905-09 (GD-EX/MT). Archive that is comprised of sports team photos, relating to Wilkinsburg Academy (Pa), Mercersburg Academy (Pa), and of an album and other loose photos relating to the family of LeRoy Yingling and Roswell Gardner Yingling and to Mercersburg Academy (Pa) and to a Carlisle Industrial School (Pa) football team. The photo album in this listing was compiled by LeRoy Yingling in commemoration of his time at Mercersburg Academy (Pa). The book is comprised of approximately 375 photos that are glued in, two sides to each of 46 pages. ALLOWED 12 PICS FOR THIS Subjects highlighted in the album revolve mainly around sports, including football, baseball and track. Many campus buildings are shown, including some interiors. Many campus events are highlighted and include scenes of both men and women. A highlight among the sport scenes is a team photo of what appears to be the Carlisle Industrial School Football Team. There are also many pics of LeRoys family, many pics of old automobiles, and there are photos from what appears to be a "class" trip from Washington DC through New York state and across Canada inclding early photos of Independence Hall.
