Description:Lot of (2) rare c.1920 "James Cartoons" posters with 1919 World Series and Babe Ruth content (see description) Pair of rare oversized approx. 21.5"x31" paper stock posters are each marked "James Cartoons Copyright 1920 by New Process Electro Corporation…New York, N.Y. Times Building." The first is titled "On Trial!" and clearly relates to the Black Sox Scandal with the evidence table including a bribe, bat and ball, and "1919 Baseball Season" text. The other is titled "The Main Issue!" and shows Uncle Sam explaining to a pair of kids selling newspapers that they may as well wait until the days' baseball game is over. Text throughout relates to Babe Ruth. Both posters have fold lines and moderate wear throughout and the Ruth related piece has a tear to one corner. Much of the most notable wear (but not all) could likely be matted out when framed for display. Fold lines would remain visible: see description ($500-$1,000)
