Description: Roberto Clemente professional quality baseball bat c.1973-75 (possibly a unique model C276 noted on his factory records) (See description) Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Clemente facsimile signature in the barrel meaures 35" long and weighs 35.6oz. Model number "C276" is factory stamped in the knob which has a small hole drilled that is likely the result of prior mounting for display (an additional small hole appears on the back of the barrel). Unused with little to no mentionable wear. It has been signed and inscribed by Reggie Jackson to our consignor who was a young boy at the time and had Jackson sign whatever was on hand. The collector woud accompany his father who had locker room access to several teams and obtained many autographs in the period and would often be handed bats, hats, or other pieces by players or team personelle. How he ended up with the offered bat is not known but it is worty of note that according to the Vince Malta Louisville Slugger reference guide a single model C276 bat was made for Clemente on 12/12/72.
