Description: Abe Attell signed photograph with related Black Sox newspaper (see description). Includes c.1950s-60s 8"x10" photo signed "To My Pal Eddie Voss" "From the little Champ Abe Attell" in black marker. Signature rates 7/8 out of 10. Attell was accused of being the 'go-between' for the gambler/gangster Arnold Rothstein and players of the Chicago White Sox during the planning stages of the fix for the 1919 World Series. The lot also includes 9/28/1920 Fort Smith Times Record newspaper with "Eight White Sox Players Are Suspended" headline on the front page. The photo grades EX overall with some minor surface crinkles and tape residue on the back edges. The newspaper has the normal brittleness from age (mainly around the corners/edges and at the fold crease).Final Bid: $244.00
