Description: Important May 14, 1973 Richard Nixon signed "Presidential Citizens Medal to Roberto Clemente" proclamation with related pen and other pieces (GD-EX) Significant 11"x14" signed "Richard Nixon" at lower right corner (8 out of 10) was issued to proclaim Clemente a receipient of the "Presidential Citizens Medal" with numerous career and personal achievements noted below. The piece has suffered water damage and moisture staining along with some other flaws (please see image for an idea of the effect this has on eye appeal). Included is an original Nixon White House pen (possibly the pen used to sign this piece but this can not be confirmed); the original folio which would have held the piece (damaged); Official copy of Government document issued the same day authorizing a Clemente medallion; and (2) photographs of Nixon as he signs the bill and just after.
