Description: 1947 Bond Bread partial set with Jackie Robinson and signed Musial (34 off 44 cards) plus (2) duplicates, (1) "perforated", original wax paper package, and later "square corners" cards (see description) Desirable near complete set of 1947 Bond Bread cards as issued in 1947 is missing only (10) cards. These cards feature rounded corners and group includes Jackie Robinson (SGC 20 1.5 Fair - back damage), Stan Musial (autographed, ink rating 8 out of 10), Joe DiMaggio (FR, back damage), Yogi Berra, Rex Barney, Lou Boudreau, Dom DiMaggio, Bob Doerr, Bruce Edwards, Bob Elliott, Bob Feller (writing on back), Carl Furillo, Sid Gordon, Joe Hatten, Gil Hodges (2, one with writing on back), Larry Jansen, Sheldon Jones, Eddie Joost, Charlie Keller, Buddy Kerr, Ralph Kiner, John Lindell, Whitey Lockman, Willard Marshall, Andy Pafko, Johnny Pesky, Pee Wee Reese (2, one FR with back damage), Aaron Robinson, Enos Slaughter, Vern Stephens, Birdie Tebbets, Bobby Thomson, and Johnny Vander Meer. These are in avg. VG condition with GD-EX general range. Please note: it is possible that two or three of these are actually the "square corners" version which have had the corners removed; rare square corners dual-sided Del Ennis card with perforated edges (EX); (23) "square corners" blank back baseball cards (avg. EX, GD-EX/MT general range) incl. Jackie Robinson, Joe DiMaggio (possibly trimmed), Ted Williams, and Stan Musial. These cards have long been the subject of speculation with some believing they were issued as early as 1949 and others of the opinion that they are more modern c.1970s-80s reproductions. We are unable to state with certainty what time period they were printed in but we include them with the partial set above; round corners cards of boxers Jake LaMotta and Marcel Cerdan; square corners Joe Louis and Primo Carnera; and an original vintage wax paper "Homogenized Bond Bread" wax paper wrapped which has been mounted around a foam block for display (GD with wear/chipping/tears throughout): see description ($500-$1,000)Final Bid: $725.00
