Description: Rare 1941 R157 Uncle Sam uncut "paper version" sheets - (4) sheets with cards #1-48 (see description) Similar to the baseball series released by Gum Inc. in the same year (1941 Play Ball), these paper stock sheets feature the same fronts and backs as cards number (1) through (48) in the "Uncle Sam" series which was widely distributed on more familiar heavy card stock. It is unknown if these (4) sheets comprise a complete "paper version" set but it is likely (the 1941 Play Ball baseball release is complete at 2 sheets). If assessing by standards which would be applied to trading cards, the sheets technically grade FR/GD to GD due to wear at corners/edges however they display at a far greater level.
