Description: Impressive lot of (130+) vintage baseball player postcards with many autographed (mostly c.1950s-60s) (GD-EX/MT) Large lot of postcards from a number of makers (both known and unknown) with most dating to the 1950s and 60s however there are a handful earlier and some later. Includes Hank Greenberg and Billy Herman signed real photo postcard showing them with fellow Pirates Hall of Famer Honus Wagner. The postcard was likely produced c.1970s; (13) Requena Yankees postcards incl. Berra, Ford, Pepitone, Kubek, Ramos (signed), and Howard; (5) 1954-56 Braves Spic & Span postcards of Conley, Crone, Buhl, Crandall, and Johnson; (4) early 1950s Red Sox team issued postcards incl. Johnny Pesky, Walt Dropo, M.McDermott, and Bill Goodman; Ted Kluszewski signed Reds team issued postcard sized photo; (12) Milwaukee Braves real photo postcards marked "L.L. Cook" on back. These include (2) different Warren Spahn, (3) different Joe Torre, Fred Haney, and signed Ray Crone; additional Braves player real photo postcards incl. Warren Spahn (signed), Eddie Mathews (unsigned, appears career era issued), Red Schoendiest (stamped signature), Wes Covington (signed, likely secreterial), Ban Cantwell (signed, marked Burke on back), Tommy Holmes (signed), Sibby Sisti (signed), Ed Stanky (signed), and Ernie Johnson (signed); (21) mostly vintage New York Giants player/related postcards. Most of these are autographed with signers incl. Monte Irvin (signed on back and dated 1953), Sal Yvars, Wes Westrum, Hank Sauer, Hoyt Wilhelm (possibly secreterial), John Antonelli (2), Jim Hearn (3, 2 signed, one stamped), Red Schoenienst (with stamped signature), Whitey Lockman, and others; (46) additional postcards which have been signed by the subject. Most of these date to the 1950s and 60s with a few later. Signers incl. Maury Wills, Carl Scheib, Ferris Fain, Harmon Killebrew (2), Gus Zernial, Bobby Shantz, Tom Gorman, Dick Sisler, Del Ennis, Richie Ashburn, Robin Roberts, Jim Konstanty, Gary Carter, Andre Dawson, Mickey Vernon, Irv Noren, Tony Kubek, George Kell, Moose Skowron, Johnny Callison, and others; and (27) additional postcards (unsigned) with subjects incl. Reggie Jackson (2), Ed Stanky (2), Hank Aaron, Dom DiMaggio, Hank Bauer, Johnny Blanchard, Elston Howard, Rod Carew, Mark McGwire, and others. Varying degrees of postal, handling, and age related wear throughout. Many signatures are personalized and in general the autographs rate 6/7 to 8 out of 10. We have included (7) postcards which have what are likely to secreterial signatures and while we have screened those noted above as being signed it is likely that there are a few which are not authentic.
