Description: Exceptional Wade Boggs rookie era professional model baseball bat c.1982-83 (PSA/DNA) (EX) Louisville Slugger 125 model R161 bat with Boggs facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 34.25" long and weighs 32oz. Tremendous usage wear is evident throughout with ball, stitch, and contact marks to both sides of the hitting surface. In addition, there are rack streaks, heavy pine tar, and a very small handle crack. "WB" initials are written on the knob in period marker, a trait PSA/DNA notes Boggs employed before the use of his jersey number. To quote their letter it makes this, "one of the earliest bats used by Wade during his professional career." With regard to dating period and player use characteristics, this is one of the best Boggs game bats with have seen or handled.
