Description: Chicago Cubs autograph album c.1927-29 - (26) sigs. Incl. Joe McCarthy, Gabby Hartnett, Mike Gonzalez, and others (Sigs. EX/MT-NM) Lined paper pad (3.5"x5.25") has period "Cubs 1927-8-9" notation on front cover. Signed on individual interior pages by Joe McCarthy, Earl Adams, Woody English, Earl Webb, Riggs Stephenson, Charlie Grimm, Gabby Hartnett, Mike Gonzalez, Clyde Beck, Charlie Root, Hal Carlson, Fred Blake, Guy Bush, Jim Brillheart, Bob Osborn, Percy Jones, Harry Grumpp, Jack Welch, John Churry, Eddie Pick, Fred Haney, Charles Tolson, Cliff Heathcote, Pete Scott, Coach Jimmie Burke (seldom offered as a stroke left him largely unable to sign, most pieces are secretarial), and another whom has identified himself as club doctor. An additional signature of Wayland Dean is present however there is an "in jail" notation below and thus we are not entirely comfortable stating that it is authentic. Period fountain pen signatures rate 7 to 8/9 out of 10. Some of the signed pages have a small newsprint player photo/likeness affixed and in some cases a name/identifier is written at top. Book itself has light general handling wear, appears to have been trimmed at lower edge, and has a very few additional minor flaws.
