Description: 1948 New York Giants professional model road jersey (EX-EX/MT) Gray flannel jersey has "New York" team name lettered across the front in logo font and player number "24" on back. Number "2" has been restored. In the collar is a "MacGregor Goldsmith" manufacturers tag with the size "46." Below is the remnant of an embroidered strip tag which would have had information regarding set, size, and player number. Additional tag on inside front tail denotes set number and year, "1 48." Well preserved overall with light to moderate evident wear and small area of discoloration on front. Fine example for display having likely been prepared for use in the 1949 by Joe Lafata as 24 went unused in 1948. A few seasons later it would be adopted by Willie Mays and eventually retired by the Giants. Includes several photograph of Giants players wearing same style jerseys (modern prints).
