Description: Significant 1899 Carlisle vs. Columbia cardboard football broadside with game tickets. Color litho. thin stock cardboard sign billing a game between the Carlisle Indians and Columbia University to be played at Manhattan Field on Thursday Nov. 30, 1899. Pictures a Columbia kicker preparing to kick a ball being held by reclining player on the field. Lot also includes (2) ticket stubs to the actual game with game date and team names. Sigs has some light creasing, a few small tears incl. vertical 3" tear at bottom, and is missing orig. hang string. Tickets are each clean with the exception of small horizontal tear in each. Matted and framed archivally. Pre 1900 color litho. football broadsides of any quality are virtually non-existent with note to the content and visuals of the offered sign combining to make this the finest we've handled: EX (With note to tears)
