Description: June 19, 1886 Detroit vs. Chicago game scene cabinet photograph with related C.W. Bennett cabinet photograph. Very fine pair of 19th century professional baseball photographers that were recently discovered in a prvate estate. The first image pictures a game in progress between Chicago and Detroit at Detroit on June 19, 1886. Image has a wonderful period flavor with horse drawn carriages in the outfield and players visible on field. Back is stamped, "The Record Breaking Game Detroit vs. Chicago at Detroit, June 19, 1886" by C.W. Earle photographer. Back also has some period notations regarding Detroit player Harding Richardson whose family we believe these photos originated from. Overall size is 7"x10" with a small pinhole at top and some corner wear: EX. Also included in the lot is a cabinet photo of C.W. Bennett by Tomlinson: NM
