Description: Fine baseball decorative mantle clock c.1870's. Considered to be among the finest 19th century baseball decorative arts pieces the offered clock features a cast metal facade by Muller, NY (stamped as such w/1868 Patent date) depicting several baseball related scenes incl. two uniformed players that retains an outstanding 90% of its' original gilt paint. Clock case is of mahogany and pine with period notations on backboard incl, "Presented to Francis Whiles by her father." and "8 day Ballplayers". Works are signed N.Pomeroy Bristol,CT and are in working order although need to be tuned to operate. Appears to have some very minor replacements incl. a few screws and some parts with relation to hands/clock face. 16" tall, missing winding key: EX-MT
