Description: Rare large format photograph of the St. Louis Browns c.1888. Early photograph of the American Association Champion Browns with players in uniform wearing striped jackets. Players include Charles Comiskey (center), Silver King, and Tip O’Niell. Wonderful image composition with players posed in front of large rock wall and two dogs in front. Photo has been laid down on acid free board and has a 4” area at lwr. left corner missing which has been toned to match photo. Photo also has numerous creasing areas which have been professionally toned in to match image color. Marked F.W. Guerin 1888 at bottom, 16”x20” in period Victorian frame. Very rare 19th century large format team photo with import as a Championship team: VG (With note to restoration)
