Description: 1914 Baltimore News Mike Doolan baseball card. Rare and prominent card from the legendary 1914 Baltimore News series features shortstop Mike Doolan from the Baltimore Terrapins of the Federal League. In addition to being extremely rare, this set is well known as the series that includes Babe Ruth's true rookie card as a minor leaguer. The Baltimore News cards feature the Baltimore Terrapins "At Home" and "Abroad" schedules on the reverse. This recently discovered Doolan example remains remarkably well preserved given its age and the condition sensitive nature of its dark blue borders. Borders show minor wear at the edges and corners with a minute fleck on the upper right edge. Image shows some tiny print spots, not significantly affecting the overall quality of the image. Back is clean and neatly printed. The card's overall condition, compounded with the inherent rarity of the issue, makes this an important hobby find: SGC 70 EX+
