Description: Lot of (3) pieces of Sioux City/Indianapolis baseball related paper items. Includes January 1, 1894 handwritten letter by Sioux City manager William Watkins as sent to Eddie Boyle. Watkins was a significant figure within Minor League baseball during the late 19th century, most notably as the manager of the Sioux City and Indianapolis teams. Watkins also managed the Detroit Wolverines. Content requests that Boyle decide his intentions with regard to playing for the team. Signed at the bottom, "W.H. Watkins". The letter itself has some tape repairs to the fold lines which do cover the signature: Letter: GD, Signature: EX; July 9, 1897 Western Union Telegram as sent to Eddie Boyle by William Watkins signed by Watkins at the bottom. The telegram itself is in two halves while the signature remains intact: Telegram: PR-GD, Signature: EX-MT; and June 14, 1894 Chas. "Lefty" Marr handwritten letter as sent to Eddie Boyle. One page (front and back) letter with content regarding the Sioux City team signed at the bottom on the back page, "Your friend Chas. Marr". The letter includes its original envelope. Marr played for several teams in the 19th century including the 1886 Cincinnati Red Stockings: Letter: GD, Signature: EX-MT. Includes LOA from JSA (autographs) and letter of provenance from the Boyle family.
