Description: 1886 New York Base Ball Club unused season ticket booklet. Rare 4"x2 1/4" booklet includes 122 unused tickets (2 for each of 61 home games) for the 1886 season. The red cover of the hardbound booklet bears gold lettering that reads "New York Base Ball Club. Season-1886. 151". Led by Hall of Famers John Ward, Tim Keefe, Buck Ewing, Mickey Welch, Roger Conner and Jim O'Rourke, the 1886 New York Giants played 119 games during the regular season, winning 75 games, losing 44 games, and finishing in third position. They played their home games at the Polo Grounds where 189,000 fans witnessed their 1886 Giants finish the season with a .630 winning percentage. The name of the original owner of this ticket booklet, John Bogart, is written on the inside front cover. Bogart was the city editor of New York Sun newspaper.
