Description: 1947 Cleveland Buckeyes team photograph. Very fine original black and white 8"x10" image of the Negro American League Champion Buckeyes posed in full uniform. Players include Trouppe, Jones, Jethroe, Brewer, Williams, and Grace. Photo quality is exceptional with minimal age toning. Stamped by Godbey photography studios on the reverse. The front of the photograph exhibits some very light surface wear to a few areas. The Buckeyes were one of the most formidable Negro League teams of the 1940s era capturing the World Series title in 1945 and the Negro American League Title in 1947. Includes letter of provenance from the Mitchell family: EX-EX/MT
