Description: Jackie Robinson single signed baseball. Spalding "Official Baseball" features an early career-contemporary version of Jackie Robinson's signature on a side panel in bold blue ballpoint rating 8-9 out of 10. The ball itself is off-white with light soiling and a tiny scratch just below the signature (unobtrusive and mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). All of the manufacturer's stampings are pronounced and legible. Career-contemporary Jackie Robinson single signed baseballs are quite scarce with most high grade Jackie singles having been signed in his retirement years. Jackie Robinson's ability on the field notwithstanding, he is also one of the most important figures of the twentieth century due to his breaking of baseball's color barrier in 1947 and his lifelong contributions as a civil rights activist.
