Original contract issued to Munson for the 1974 season for a total of $75,000. Three page foldout contract is signed on the interior by Munson, Yankees General Manager Gabe Paul, and American League President L.MacPhail Jr. Signatures range from 9 to 10 out of 10 including blue ink autograph by Munson rating 10 out of 10. In addition to the contract, the lot contains several other related documents to include: Original cover letter sent to Munson from Gabe Paul typewritten on Yankees stationary and signed by Paul: NM; Original NY Yankees mailing envelope marked "Personal and Confidential": EX; and the original New York Yankees oversized mailing envelope: EX. Thurman's maturation as a premier player in the American League continued during the 1974 season, which saw his first appearance as the starting catcher in the All-Star game.
