Description: Folk art painted blanket chest with Allen & Ginter Champions album pages c.1889-90s. Period painted pine hinged lid blanket chest of dovetail construction retaining its original wrought iron hardware has color lithographic album pages from the Allen & Ginter "Champions" souvenir tobacco album adhered to the interior lid. The pages include several notable baseball players such as Comiskey, Clarkson, and Anson. The front of the trunk has been carefully hand carved, "Herman Mansen Portland, ME Amerika North" which adds to the folk art appeal of the piece.
