Description: Pair of Monte Irvin presentation pieces. Includes large 17”x42” wooden plaque display presented to Irvin in commemoration of the 5th Annual Tribute to The Negro Leagues. Mounted on the plaque are a specially engraved full-sized bat, a baseball, and other decorative elements. Accompanying the plaque is a custom mahogany presentation box shaped like a home plate. The box was designed to hold a brick from the original Baseball Hall of Fame (missing brick). A plaque on the velvet lined interior is engraved in part “The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum Dedicated June 12, 1939 Cooperstown, New York – Presented to Monte Irvin". Includes letter of provenance from Monte Irvin: NM-NM/MT
