Description: Scarce Duffy Lewis single signed baseball. Like new MacPhail NL ball signed on a side panel by Lewis in black felt tip pen. Signature rates 8 out of 10. The ball itself remains near white with minimal evidence of handling. As a member of the Boston Red Sox from 1910-15, Lewis was part of the famed “Million-Dollar Outfield” trio, which included Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper. Offensively, Lewis was a renowned line-drive hitter who consistently finished in the top ten in most offensive categories despite a shortened career interrupted by World War I. Lewis passed away in 1979 at the age of 91, and was posthumously inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2002. Includes LOA from JSA: Ball: NM, Signature: EX/MT-NM
