Description: Roger Maris, Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford 1962 Post Cereal display. Comprehensive framed display celebrates the popular promotional endeavor by Post Cereal in 1962 that sought to capitalize on the wave of excitement created by the epic home run race between Mantle and Maris in 1961. Among the Post advertising items in this display are original Maris and Mantle cards that were issued in the April 13th, 1962 issue of Life magazine as well as the ad that accompanied the cards featuring Whitey Ford. Also included are original 8”x11” color advertising posters featuring Maris and Mantle, as well as autographed 3”x5” index cards of Maris, Mantle and Ford. Descriptive plaques provide a narrative of the Post promotion and the Yankee greats at the heart of it.
