Exact replica of Whitey Ford's 1961 Cy Young Award plaque as manufactured by Balfour. 16" tall black painted wooden plaque with an affixed silverplated figural pitching arm positioned above a placard with raised lettering, "Presented to Edward "Whitey" Ford Most Valuable Pitcher 1961". The plaque was made by the Balfour company which manufactured the original award plaque. Whitey Ford's 1961 season was easily one of the greatest by any pitcher in Major League history culminating with a World Championship title and the World Series Most Valuable Player award.
