Lot Number: 354

Description: Superb Mickey Mantle 1960 World Series professional model baseball bat. Adirondack model #302 bat measures 35 1/2" long and weighs 31.6oz. Excellent use is immediately visible throughout the bat inclusive of ball marks, pronounced stitching impressions, and cleat marks with black shoe polish visible on the left side of the barrel. The back of the barrel had a very small mounting hole which has been professionally restored and is not visible. Model #113A is stamped on the knob end with "1960 World Series" and "MANTLE" stamped in white lettering on the barrel. Signed, "Mickey Mantle No. 7" in blue sharpie on the barrel. Although the 1960 World Series will be forever remembered for Bill Mazeroski's dramatic Game #7 heroics, the 1960 World Series was statistically lopsided in favor of the Yankees. Mickey Mantle led the way with three home runs and a batting average of .400. Mantle later recounted that losing the 1960 World Series was the greatest disappointment of his professional career. Outstanding Mickey Mantle World Series game used bat with very fine use characteristics. Includes LOA's from PSA/DNA-John Taube (bat, graded GU 8.5) and JSA (autograph): EX-EX/MT
