Description: Thurman Munson's Poker Table and Chair set c.1970s. Fine quality custom made poker table by the Viking Oak Co. of Batesville, Indiana as used by Munson in his Ohio home. Solid oak table has an inset tooled leather top in a light tan color. The table seats seven players, each with their own individual chip receptacles, which are removable. The set includes (7) original captain's style oak chairs with matching tan leather appointments. Chairs are stamped by Viking Oak Co. on the bottom, which was one of the premier companies of its type during the period. According to Diana Munson, Thurman was an avid poker player and very much enjoyed hosting regular poker events at his Ohio home. One can only imagine the baseball stories that were exchanged at the offered table by Munson and his friends. Includes letter of provenance from Diana Munson: EX-MT
