Description: Thurman Munson's First Major League Base Hit baseball. Soiled and game used Cronin AL ball was batted by Thurman Munson for his very first Major League base hit during his debut game on August 8, 1969 at Yankee Stadium against the Oakland Athletics. The ball is inscribed by Munson on a side panel, "First Major League Hit Aug. 8, 1969". After a brief stint in the Minor Leagues, Thurman Munson quickly rose to prominence in the American League. In his first full season with the Yankees, Munson became one of the premier catchers in the game, capturing the 1970 American League Rookie of the Year trophy.
