Description: Fine Babe Ruth vintage large format photograph by Nat Fein c.1948. The striking image of Ruth holding his hat by his side and leaning on a bat ranks as one of the most famous images in baseball history. The moment was captured on June 13, 1948 when Ruth attended a celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of his house, Yankee Stadium. Consumed by the ravages of throat cancer, Babe was extremely frail and had to be helped into uniform and onto the field. Horizontal image measures 11"x14" framed with exceptional contrast and clarity, signed "Nat Fein" at bottom right. The photo remains very clean with some minimal surface wear.
