Description: Rare Jim Bottomley professional model baseball bat c. 1933. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 36.4oz. The bat shows very strong use incl. ball marks, cleats marks, and rack marks. The handle had a minor crack which has been professionally restored. Trademark and signature stampings remain very bold including its "Powerized and Oil Tempered" stamping which dates specifically to 1933. Discovered in a Cincinnati area estate, the bat was given to the original owner by Bottomley himself during a game at Crosley Field. The specific date stamping corresponds to the three year time period (1933-1935) in which Bottomley played for the Cin. Reds. Bottomley was one of the finest batsman of the 1920s-30s, compiling a lifetime .310 batting average with over 2,300 hits. First example that we have handled: EX
