Description: Superb Lou Gehrig auto. photograph c.1930s. Sepia tone 8"x10" image of Gehrig selecting a baseball bat which has been signed in black fountain pen, "To Charles With Kindest Regards Lou Gehrig". The signature remains incredibly bold rating 9/10 out of 10. The salutation also rates 9 out of 10 with a slight bit of original ink "feathering" to the "T" in "To" and to the bottom of the "ou" in "Lou". The image itself has a surface crease/tear at the top border that measures approx. 2" long. The tear has been neatly restored and does not detract from the appearance of the image. Lou Gehrig signed images of quality are extraordinarily rare with the offered example ranking as one of the finest we have handled. Matted and framed. Includes LOA from James Spence Authentication: NM (With note to crease/tear repair)
