Description: Pair of 19th century soft paste children's mugs with ball themed game decoration c.1840s-60s. Includes handled 3" tall mug with color transfer decorated scene on the front depicting a game of "Trap Bat & Ball". The mug appears to be very clean with a professional repair to a surface crack on the back panel: EX. The other mug stands 2 1/2" tall with a black and white scene picturing an early ball style game: EX-MT. Both games depicted were one of the many early forerunners of the game of baseball as it evolved through the early to mid 19th century.
