Description: Rare Roberto Clemente autographed professional model baseball bat c.1965-68. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 36" long and weighs 35.6oz. The bat exhibits no visible usage with the exception of a few minor rack marks; model #U1 is stamped on the end of the knob. Clemente has signed the bat just to the right of the Louisville Slugger centerbrand in green ink. The signature remains clearly visible although it did not originally take to the finished surface of the bat and rates 5 out of 10. The bat was obtained at a charity raffle in the 1960s by the brother of the consignor. Clemente was in attendance at the event and signed the bat for the winning individual. One of only a handful of Clemente autographed baseball bats that we have encountered. Includes LOA's from Hunt Auctions, Inc. (bat) and James Spence Authentication (signature). The lot also includes letter of provenance from the family of the original recipient: Bat: EX-MT, Signature: VG-EX
