Description: 1940 Detroit Tigers World Series presentational serving tray. Impressive silverplated serving tray presented to Pete Fox for the Tigers 1940 AL Championship. Handled tray measuring 15"x21" has incised facsimile signatures of the Tigers players at the center along with an image of team owner Walter Briggs. Tray is engraved in the center, "The Detroit Tigers American League Champions 1940 Presented by the Baseball Citizens of Detroit". The surface remains clean with light wear and a few scratches. The tray originated from the family of Pete Fox and is accompanied by a letter of provenance: EX
