Description: Rare Forbes Field pitching rubber. Vintage pitching rubber as removed from Forbes Field in 1970 after the final game at the legendary Pittsburgh stadium. Original rubber exhibits strong overall usage incl. chipping to both front and back edges. The pitching rubber was removed from Forbes Field along with other items and disposed through raffles. The offered pitching rubber was obtained through one of the raffles and was kept until the original recipient's passing in 1990. Fine baseball stadia related item with historical import to one of the game's great stadiums. Housed in a shadow box style frame with a photo of Forbes Field. Includes letter of provenance: VG-EX
