Description: Lot of (16) original Forbes Field scoreboard numerals c.1938. Rare set of cast metal 13"x16" numbers used on the scoreboard at Forbes Field. Each sign retains vintage green paint with white numerals. Includes cast brass identification placard from the Allegheny Club denoting that the numbers were designed by George Norris in 1938. Fascinating to think of the great moments in baseball history that these very numbers recorded including plays by Clemente, the Waner brothers, Willie Stargell, and the 1960 World Series: Range VG-EX
